Representative Responsibilities
 • Repetitive buying of pre-sourced simple parts and/or vendor standard catalogue parts
 • May purchase custom engineered product parts
 • May source parts and research to find new alternate vendors
 • May source parts and companies for development products without specifications, researching to determine the best part and vendor
 • May qualify new vendors
 • Proactively reviews the MRP report to determine and fulfill purchasing needs
 • Research and obtain quantity and volume discounts
 • May negotiate long-term contracts to reduce prices on parts
 • Communicates with planners and manufacturing teams to prevent part shortages
 • Communicates with engineers to identify quality problems
 • May Coordinate with cost accountant prices that may change for rolling BOM’s
 • May work with AP on terms
 • Expedites purchase orders
 • Receives delivery information from vendors
 • Advocates for ETC in terms of pricing, quality, and delivery timing
 • Understands product and manufacturing process that utilizes part
 • Performs other duties as assigned
 • Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion

Minimum Qualifications
 • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
 • All levels of previous buying experience will be considered
 • Purchasing certification CPM or CPP preferred
 • Experience in specific commodity purchasing preferred
 • Knowledge of purchasing principles and practices preferred
 • Knowledge of product/specific manufacturing process of parts purchased preferred
 • Ability to understand numbers, prices and quantities
 • Ability to read and interpret MRP report
 • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
 • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills
 • Computer skills
 • Able to work independently and as part of a team
