Technical Product Manager - Architectural Fixtures

Ideal candidates will have strong technical skills and experience in the field of architectural lighting. Experience with ETC's fixtures and control systems is strongly preferred.

Representative Responsibilities:
• Participate in development of corporate product strategy
• Develop and recommend product line strategies based on market research data (provided by others) and newly available technologies
• Create technical content for marketing specifications for new products
• Interpret marketing requirements into technical design requirements that the development team can act upon
• Determine appropriate mockups, samples, prototypes, and other artifacts in order to validate product design
• Act as the primary technical bridge between Marketing and the development team
• Participate in the creation of functional specification for new products, including human interface design in conjunction with development engineering
• Participate in the design and implementations of market research events supporting new product development (marketing specification stage, concept testing, beta testing)
• Participates in Steering Team for product line
• Cooperate with Marketing to produce annual product plan for product line
• Review patent applications and competitive patents
• Serves as the primary product-related R&D representative on cross-functional new product development teams
• Monitor cost of production, availability of and alternatives for key components, profit margins, and sales revenue to optimize product pricing throughout the product lifecycle
• Assist Marketing Product Manager in developing product line sales forecasts
• Assist the Marketing Product Manager in identifying product positioning strategies that evolve with products as they move through their lifecycles in different regional markets
• Perform other duties and assigned tasks in a timely and positive fashion

Minimum Qualifications:  Grade and level to be determined, based on experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in a related discipline
• A minimum of 0-3 years of job-related experience in sales, marketing, technical services or projects or other relevant experience required. All levels of experience will be considered.
• Experience in a related lighting application required
• Detailed understanding of complete ETC product line
• Practical understanding of software, electrical, and mechanical engineering practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to ask insightful questions and listen
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to work in a team environment
• Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint
