Electrical Engineer Co-op

This is an 8-9 month co-op position located in Victor, NY

Job Description:
ETC Vortek, located in Victor, NY, is a custom hoist design center. We are responsible for designing custom hoists and control systems which are used to raise and lower scoreboards located
across the world. Our systems utilize the latest technology to provide our customers exact products to meet their needs and exceed their expectations. We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious
student to help our engineering team with systems design. This student would work closely with our Controls Engineering team in the pursuit of continuous improvement. Our control systems are custom
from the ground up which allows students to understand how components work together to form a complete controls system. If this sounds like a position that interests you, then apply today!

Required Duties:
• Perform circuit analysis and simulation using Ladder Logic, C+, Function Block, and Standard Text
• Help support new systems design, debug, verification, and testing
• Perform basic analog and digital circuit design
• Develop test and verification procedures
• Basic understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus
• Basic understanding of VFDs, HMIs, PLCs, and Smart Relays
• Self-motivated student who can work well independently as well as in a team setting
• Assist in continuous improvement of control systems
• Other assigned duties

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• Working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Junior or Senior year or have taken relevant courses in Electrical Engineering
• 1-2 years post high school education in area of specialization
• GPA:  3.0 or higher
