Industrial Health & Wellness Specialist - RN

Exciting new opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join ETC’s growing Health & Safety team! As our company grows we’re also expanding our health, wellness, and safety services for our employees/fellow co-owners. In this role as an Industrial Health & Wellness Specialist we’re looking for an enthusiastic RN to help us promote the overall safety, health and well-being of employees. Qualified applicants will have graduated from an accredited RN program and possess a current and valid license from WI Department of Safety and Professional Services. Representative Responsibilities:
• Facilitates the occupational health program related to work injury management, establishes goals for reduction of work-related injuries and illnesses.
• Teach and train the benefits of ergonomics as they relate to office and department set up.
• Recognizes environmental and physical stressors in the workplace that may cause negative health impacts on employees, and actively participates in strategies to reduce those risks.
• Contributes to facility and corporate-wide team efforts to address Occupational Health issues.
• Works alongside medical and non-medical professionals related to work injury management, ergonomics, and other occupational health and safety program issues to assure program effectiveness.
• Coordinates with other health care professionals, human resources, department manager, and vendors related to work injuries to facilitate company-wide timely return to work program and appropriate utilization of benefits.
• Tracks and communicates applicable worker’s compensation and other health related aspects.
• Works with deli to offer nutritional offerings
• Teach and train the benefits of an active lifestyle
• Acts as a general resource for health and safety related questions
• Assists in health and safety items.
• Investigate employee safety concerns
• Responds to and prepares safety investigation reports
• Performs health and safety walkthroughs
• Entry of health and safety items in database
• May assist with escorting agencies conducting audits and accompany agencies performing inspections
• Assists with processing claim forms for worker’s comp
• Assists with new employee orientation and health and safety training
• Coordinates internal health, wellness and safety training classes
• Schedules training classes with trainers and participants
• May assist with specific health and safety training
• Maintains health and safety records and compiles reports from database.
• Assists with the coordination of the following:
• Fitness center
• HRA’s
• First AID, CPR, AED and Bloodborne Pathogen training
• Blood Drives
• Hep B Shots
• Flu shots
• First Aid cabinets
• Health and Safety Fair
• Hearing tests
• Air quality monitoring

Additional Responsibilities:
• May assist HR Generalist or Facility Coordinators as needed
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proven ability to deal with all levels of personnel and to maintain the strictest confidentiality
• The ability to research and analyze various different types of data or information.
• Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Education and Experience:
• Nursing degree
• Prefer Occupational Nursing background
• Physical Therapy or previous experience
• Previous experience in Ergonomic field
• One to three years in health and safety or a related field
• Background in health and safety regulations is preferred.
