Electro-mechanical Engineering Intern

Department: R&D
Region: Canada

Representative Responsibilities:
• Mechanical design using Solid works (3D drawing, and output for 3D printing).
• Familiarity with ACAD for drawing.
• Familiarity with schematic capture programs (Altium for example).
• Familiarity with PCB layout programs (Altium for example).
• Familiarity with electronic componentry and characteristics.
• Soldering skills with SMT components.
• Programming skills for microcontrollers (C programming language preferred).
• Any wireless experience.
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• 2nd-4th year post high school education in area of specialization
• GPA:  3.0 or higher

Intern level position
• As an  intern, this position has had no prior exposure to formal engineering or processes and has little or no prior work experience in this job function
• At this level, the employee, has not developed a level of expertise as an engineer, as a result, the employee will work in conjunction with the mentor who will do the following:
• The  more senior level CTO or mentor, provides continuing or individual assignments, indicating generally what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments, including suggested work methods or advise on source material
• Mentor assures that finished work and methods used are technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures
