ETC in Middleton is looking for a CNC Machinist to join our team in the Metal Shop on 2nd shift!
Our ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of CNC and manual machine tools, the ability to set up mill and lathe jobs and have great communication skills.
We offer a clean, climate-controlled facility and a convenient 4 x 10 schedule (Mon-Thurs 3pm - 1am)

Representative Responsibilities:
• Manufactures parts to the standards and specifications
• Creates machined parts from existing programs and fixtures.
• Sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate tools, mechanisms, and machines.
• Solves problems relative to materials, tools, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, product specifications, and fabrication methods for production process, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics
• Consults with engineer and other personnel regarding product information
• Evaluates and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
• Ensures work orders are completed
• Maintains expected productivity output levels and completes assignments as scheduled
• Completes paperwork correctly, labels parts per work order and forwards the products to the next station
• Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs for the next shift
• Ensures products quality meets standards by frequently checking work
• Builds parts to quality standards within specified tolerance as reflected on print
• Follows ISO procedures
• Uses appropriate documentation, e.g. ECRs, and NCMRs, to identify and communicate issues
• Completes machine maintenance in a timely manner
• Reports all identified problems to the manager
• Maintains tools regularly and informs manager of tooling needs
• Adheres to safety standards at all times
• Ensures that safe methods and practices are used
• Abides by safety procedures, work practice controls, and OSHA guidelines
• Wears personal protective equipment when required
• Identifies and reports safety issues to management
• Learns new tasks and procedures as needed
• Listens to, understands and follow instructions while learning new assignments
• Recognizes unusual circumstances and asks intelligent questions when necessary
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment
• Ensures after task is completed, floor is swept, and tools are returned to designated area
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
• 1 year diploma in Machine Tooling preferred
• 3-5 years of experience at setting up and operating CNC machine tools
• Ability to edit G-Code programs for CNC lathe and mill machinery
• Experience with a variety of CNC and manual machine tools and control types. (Specifically, HAAS lathe and mill with Haas and Fanuc Controls)
• Ability to set-up mill and lathe jobs, without assistance, quickly and accurately
• Experience developing production set-ups and tooling for machined components.
• Good math skills (algebra, trigonometry, geometry)
• Excellent problem solving skill and experience for all aspects of machining processes
• Advanced inspection abilities including with a large variety of measuring tools.
• Excellent communications skills
• Able to read blueprints
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand for long periods of time
