Cost Analyst

ETC, the leading manufacturer of entertainment technology, is seeking a Cost Analyst to join our new Financial Planning & Analysis team at our headquarters in Middleton, WI. With offices and products around the globe, we’re looking for a Cost Analyst to assist in the management of our cost roll, analyze costs and variances, work with our R&D teams on project costs, and use financial analytics and trends to aid our ETC team of co-owners as we drive forward business decisions for our US and international operations.

Representative Responsibilities:
• Performs standard cost accounting functions and related analysis.
• Reviews, analyzes and reports the standard cost of inventory.
• Reviews, analyzes, and reports the monthly manufacturing variances.
• Review production Work Order variances.
• Monitors inventory transactions and corrects errors.
• Calculates absorption rate and analyzes variances in applied overhead.
• Coordinates the cost accounting issues with FP&A Manager.
• Assists with worldwide Transfer Pricing calculations.
• Perform simulated and annual cost rolls; analyze and report results.
• Creates and maintains project accounting functions.
• Works with R&D to create R&D project budgets, computes and tracks costs, analyzes and reports variances.
• Calculates and tracks ROI on new products.
• Performs ongoing financial analysis of Company related trends
• Assists with process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards
• Performs ratio analysis and maintains schedule of historical results
• Calculates and reviews Key Performance Indicators
• Identifies and corrects data errors
• Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the company in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.
• Assists with other accounting functions as assigned
• Develops and maintains positive communication between finance department and other departments.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
• Previous manufacturing cost accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of general accounting principles
• Knowledge of accounting, key performance indicators, and ratio analysis
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost accounting methods
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Strong attention to detail
• Critical thinking, curiosity, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Excel and Power BI
• Experience with SAP a plus
• Excellent organizational skill
