Architectural and Commercial Fixtures Product Manager

ETC’s Marketing team seeks an Architectural & Commercial Fixtures Product Manager to guide product development efforts with our growing product lines. This position serves as the voice of the market, helping to design and invigorate our product strategy. The Product Manager will build on their industry experience to perform market research to help define the fixtures required for architectural and commercial lighting systems of tomorrow. Successful candidates will be confident, self-driven, tactful communicators with expertise and understanding of the industry, including ETC or competitor products.

Ideally, this position would be based in our company headquarters in Middleton, WI, though we may offer flexibility for well-qualified candidates. This position requires approximately 20% travel, which is primarily domestic, with the occasional need for international travel.

Representative Responsibilities:
• Product & Business Development
• Manage existing products as assigned.
• Creates requirement documents for new products with assistance from others
• Represents product management team and customers on R&D development teams.
• Creates detailed user stories. Prioritizes product feature releases
• Proposes plan for optimization of inventory during transition from old product line to a newer product line
• Analysis – Forecasting - Research
• Monitors cost of production, profit margins, sales revenue, project progress without minimal supervision
• Research competitive products and compiles comparative reports
• Interviews and documents customer research
• Develops product line sales forecasts
• Communications
• Identifies customer groups for communications. Writes effective communications
• Identifies product training objectives and delivers some training classes
• Public Speaking/Demo
• Serves as source of product line knowledge for regional sales force. Performs product demonstrations for key customers. Presents products at trade show.
• Public speaker on behalf of product line with assistance
• Regular travel (approximately 20%)
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
• All levels of job-related experience in sales, marketing, technical services or projects or other relevant experience will be considered
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks without general supervision
• Proficient with ETC or competitors’ products
• Direct experience of commercial or architectural lighting practice
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to ask insightful questions
• Ability to deliver training materials to internal groups
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent computer skills
• Effective public speaker
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to use statistical analysis tools to forecast sales and analyze market research data
