Food Service Team Lead

Department: Events & Amenities

As our Food Service Team Lead, you’ll craft menus, support events, and keep everything running smoothly with strong organization and attention to detail. Representative Responsibilities:
• Assists Events & Amenities Manager with deli department budgets and daily money reconciliation
• Plan and create menu offerings
• Responsible for ordering, inventory, and quality of products
• Ensure food safety and sanitation regulations are followed and meet hygiene standards
• Assist events team in the planning and coordination of specialty theme events
• Coordinate catering needs
• Assist Food Service team with the preparation and serving of food & cleanup of kitchen & service areas
• Maintain good customer relations by serving customers with a positive attitude and a friendly, professional demeanor
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion

Team Lead Responsibilities
• Organizes and prioritizes workload for employees on a daily basis with direction from manager
o Communicates identifiable problems to management
o Ensures priorities are met and jobs are completed on time
• Assists the manager in the training of employees including
o Orientation of new employees to department
o ISO ‘on the job’ training
o Training existing employees on new processes or procedures
• Personnel duties
o Provides objective input on employee performance to manager for use in performance appraisals
o Communicates any and all personnel issues to department manager e.g. non- compliance with schedule, breach of policy, safety concerns
o Assists manager in comparison of employee time sheets with established schedules
o Assists manager in communicating policies to employees

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience required
• Certification as required by the Wisconsin Department of Health
• 1 - 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures required. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Experience in leading and directing the work of others
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and details simultaneously
• Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the company
• Maintains Food Service industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes and attending related expos regularly
• Ability to lift 30 lbs
• Experience with Excel and Bookkeeping programs desirable
