Field Project Coordinator - Technical Sales

ETC, an international leader in Lighting and Rigging technology, is seeking a Field Project Coordinator in the sales department of our London office, this post is field based with regular trips to London.

The right candidate will have proven technical experience in entertainment lighting, with extensive knowledge of “intelligent lighting” – fixtures, controls, and networks. You will be able to communicate your enthusiasm for the technology to a wide audience either one-to-one or in formal presentations. You will have a clear understanding of the commercial process of delivering projects, a thorough understanding of the multiple systems needed in a modern performance venue and the ability to build and maintain relationships with lighting designers, hire companies and dealers. As this is a field position, it will require extensive travel.

Representative Responsibilities:
• Supports Regional Manager, with ETC dealers within the territory.
• Visits project sites, end users, and dealers
• Supports dealers and end users with equipment demonstrations
• Works with ETC Professional Services to define project requirements and design lighting systems for customers
• Coordinates sales calls & follows up on sales leads
• Conducts training seminars & demonstrates equipment
• Assembles system layouts for theatrical and architectural lighting systems
• Layout lighting control systems with specifications and risers
• Administrates loan & demo equipment for the territory
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with consultants, end users & dealers
• Manages and provides budget information for projects
• Participates in trade shows, sales training seminars and other informational sales events
• Attends trade shows, including assisting with build & strike as required
• Creates and leads training classes, including the training of customers on equipment
• Employee Travel
• This position is a field position requiring in excess of 50% travel
• This position requires occasional work in the evenings and weekends
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Completes special projects and assignments in a positive and timely manner

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre or Production, or comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
• 3-5 years in Theatrical, Studio, Event or Music touring lighting experience
• Experience with theatrical, architectural, studio, event or music touring lighting
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, AGI, or other photometric software
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, lighting designers, sales representatives, consultants, electrical contractors, and distributors
• Ability to design theatrical lighting for dramas. broadcast and live events
• Knowledge of ETC product line and equivalent competitor products
• Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Able to provide timely, thorough and accurate customer service
• Strong background in theatrical, studio, event or music touring lighting, including basic understanding of theatrical lighting systems layout and wiring, etc.
• Excellent presentation, and communications skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills - able to deal with difficult personalities in high-stress situations
• Understanding of contractual and commercial processes
• Computer networking knowledge beneficial
