Systems Support Engineer

Region: Midwest (US)

ETC is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to join our team in Middleton, WI! This position would assist with delivering lighting system controls for large scale architectural and commercial projects such as stadiums, hotels, museums, casinos and more. This position would receive plans and specs from customers, evaluate the customer’s needs and provide ETC equivalent product solutions. Our ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of architectural and/or commercial lighting systems as well as experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.

Representative Responsibilities:

  • Work with project managers, system estimators and customers to complete projects to customers control intent
  • Prepare technical documentation for system integration
  • Modify construction drawings for ETC Commercial and Architectural systems
  • Generate load schedules for lighting panels
  • Create lighting risers
  • Assist the project manager on customer communications regarding system requirements
  • Establishes and maintains relations with ETC dealers, reps, contract technicians, consultants, contractors and end users
  • Ensures ETC is projected in a professional and enthusiastic manner
  • Remains current on changes in policies, procedures, and product offerings
  • Ensures product knowledge is up to date
  • Reviews and improves existing procedures on a regular basis
  • Remains current on national energy codes and any changes; i.e. Title24, ASHRAE
  • Works with general and electrical contractors to explain ETC’s best practices in system installations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of comparable business experience in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
  • 4-6 years of job-related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks without general supervision
  • Experience with mains voltage and 3 phase electricity
  • Strong knowledge of architectural and/or commercial lighting systems
  • Strong knowledge of ETC architectural and commercial product
  • Bluebeam and CAD knowledge preferred
  • Experience with national energy codes and any changes; i.e. Title24, ASHRAE
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to explain difficult technical concepts in easy to understand terms
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must show patience and display a clear interest in getting the project done right and getting the contractors involved
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Candidate must show the ability to constantly improve, innovate, and regularly offer suggestions to make ETC’s approach to projects better
  • Strong degree of flexibility and independence
  • Computer skills
  • Able to travel
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work weekend and evenings as required
