Architectural and Commercial Market Manager

We are looking for a visionary market manager to join our dynamic team and lead our architectural and commercial lines in the future.

What You’ll Do: Are you a strategic thinker with an understanding of architectural and commercial markets? A strong and confident communicator? A curious problem solver? Do you have the vision to drive growth and innovation? If so, we want you to be our next Architectural and Commercial Market Manager. In this role, you will:
• Assist product management to integrate and adapt ETC products for a market segment
• Analyze potential markets and product strategies
• Collaborate with sales to determine product pricing structure, develop sales and promotional plans
• May act as Product Manager for segment specific products when required
• Participate in product steering teams as required and assigned
• Documents the market need for products and create ROI projections in marketing specifications. Set sales targets and projections
• Integrate existing products into a defined market
• Manage communication with end-users, resellers, specifiers and internal sales force about the defined market segment
• Gathers competitive intelligence across products and geographic markets within market segment
• Develops and maintains product positioning strategies that evolve with products as they move through their lifecycles in different regional markets
• Works with Promotions and Advertising to define objectives for trade show planning and realization, ad development, PR communications
• Serves as source of in-depth market knowledge for regional sales force, participates in key demonstrations, customer factory visits, key sales initiatives
• Defines top level portfolio requirements for fixture and control packages for schools, offices, restaurants, houses of worship, marine, retail and hospitality to conform to latest standards of energy codes and competitive specification
• Work closely with marketing product managers and marketing communications throughout product launch cycles
• Works to identify potential fixture companies to integrate with ETC controls to strengthen system package solutions

What You’ll Need: We’re looking for candidates with experience in sales or marketing, specific to architectural and commercial markets. Strong communication skills and an in-depth knowledge of these markets and the competitive landscape are required. Candidates should have demonstrated experience with fixtures and controls portfolios in both decorative and energy code-compliant applications. Must have the ability to travel approximately 25%, including some international travel.

Representative Responsibilities:

• Serves as source of in-depth market knowledge for regional sales force, participates in key demonstrations, customer factory visits, key sales initiatives
• Defines top level portfolio requirements for fixture and control packages for schools, offices, restaurants, houses of worship, marine, retail and hospitality to conform to latest standards of energy codes and competitive specification
• Works cooperatively with sales staff to identify independent fixture companies to integrate ETC controls and align reps to strengthen rep packages with our system solution
• Contact and introduce target fixture manufacturers to appropriate ETC sales staff
• Solidify ETC sales contact for continuation of relationship with partnered fixture companies
• Attend sales meetings with partnered fixtures companies as appropriate

Additional Responsibilities:
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Completes special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion
• May manage OEM sales on an interim basis

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required in increasingly responsible positions in the related discipline
• 7 or more years marketing or sales experience required in core markets to be represented
• commercial or architectural lighting experience and product knowledge required
• Experience managing complicated projects and professional staff
• Demonstrated experience managing fixtures and controls portfolios in both decorative and energy code compliance applications of the commercial lighting market
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks without general supervision
• Knowledge of company policies
• Motivation and leadership skills
• Excellent communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• In depth market knowledge
• Able to ask insightful questions and listen
• Experienced, effective public speaker
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to work in a team environment
• Broad knowledge of competitive landscape of decorative and energy code driven lighting markets
