Factory Automation Engineer Co-Op (6-8 Month Role - Spring 2026 Semester)

ETC looking for a Factory Automation Engineer Co-Op for the Spring 2026 semester! This is an 8-9 month assignment that will run from January 2026 - August 2026 with the expectation that the individual takes a semester off of school and works full time. This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience and be fully emersed with the Manufacturing Engineering team!

Our ideal candidate will be a Junior or Senior in college pursuing a degree in Engineering. This position is a mix of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering so having an Electrical Engineer student who is comfortable with Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Engineer student who's comfortable with Electrical Engineering would be preferred!

Some of the duties you may be doing:
• Performs assigned project tasks under direct supervision of more senior-level engineers
• Makes design modifications or improvements to development projects with supervision
• Assists in test and verification procedures
• Provides task completion time estimates
• Attends identified training classes
• Participates as a team member, works effectively in a team environment
• Becomes familiar with tools and applications utilized by department
• Learns department and corporate policies, procedures and plans
• Designs and implements factory automation equipment using principles in robots, automation, IoT, AGV’s and other automation technologies with help from more senior-level engineers.
• Maintains project documentation, procedures and engineering validation information
• Designs mechanical mechanisms using Solidworks or other CAD programs with help from more senior level engineers.
• Applies knowledge in electrical engineering, AC/DC motors, drives and controls
• Programs in Labview, C++, other programming languages and databases
• Other duties as assigned.
• Complete special projects and requests in a timely and positive fashion.

Minimum Requirements:
• Enrolled, or completed bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related field
• Generally entering Junior or Senior year, or have taken relevant courses in an Engineering discipline
• GPA: 3.0 or higher for those who are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree
